Central San Jose

Central San Jose is comprised of several different areas and neighborhoods all conveniently located, as is typical of the city itself. The area is served by the San Jose Unified School District and is home to the very first California State University, San Jose State.

Perhaps the most central, for obvious reasons, is Downtown San Jose. Downtown is made up of many Central San Jose neighborhoods including Japantown, Newhall, and Naglee Park, where every home’s charm is evident from the curb appeal alone.

What makes this area so special is the wide range of housing and lifestyles. Homes for sale in Downtown San Jose include just about everything from early twentieth century Victorians to just built high-rise condominiums. Even the neighborhoods themselves are quite diverse with some being more family-oriented, more walkable, or more residential than others. And the neighborhood associations are often very active in maintaining the appearance and safety of these areas, as well as in planning community events.

In this very blended location, professionals and residents work, dine and find entertainment alongside SJSU students—whom they also share the Dr. Martin Luther King, Jr. Library with. And perhaps as a testament to the inherent vibrancy of San Jose itself, City Hall overlooks historical and inviting Japantown, and sits directly across the street from condos, an elementary school, and several ethnic restaurants.

What’s more, many of the buildings and neighborhoods in this area are committed to providing affordable housing to increase the appeal of Downtown San Jose in general.

Further west, you’ll find the Rose Garden area of Central San Jose. The Rose Garden neighborhoods include Shasta-Hanchett Park, which is a mostly upper-middle class locale with most homes for sale having great historic value. This neighborhood has continued to develop, however, with the creation of newer properties along The Alameda near the HP Pavilion and San Jose Diridon Station.

Beyond Shasta-Hanchett is the Rose Garden neighborhood itself. This popular neighborhood is naturally appealing with its tree-lined streets, small-community feel, and of course, beautiful roses. The great majority of homes for sale in this area have large, well-manicured front yards with detached garages at the end of long driveways.

Just as popular with Central San Jose homebuyers is walkable Willow Glen. Willow Glen neighbors Sunol-Midtown, and its real estate for sale is incredibly in-demand. It’s not uncommon for properties to compete with some of the most expensive neighborhoods in the Bay Area—but the value is also undeniable and rarely, if ever, questioned. This festive neighborhood revolves around Lincoln Avenue where cozy shops and restaurants attract patrons from throughout the entire city. And the area’s streets are stunningly clean and well landscaped.

So, there you have it. Your options are endless in Central San Jose. From busy Downtown to small Sunol-Midtown, you’re sure to find the home for sale that suits you and your lifestyle. Why not start right now? Begin your search today and find your new property in eclectic Central San Jose.
